Dorotha Jean Holloman Brannon

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorotha Jean Holloman Brannon, 83, of Daingerfield, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Burial will follow at Rhodes Cemetery in Daingerfield, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Dorotha Jean Brannon was born on September 26, 1942, to John D. Holloman and Jo Dale Lewis. She transitioned on August 18, 2026. She attended public school in Daingerfield and graduated from J.J. Rhoads High School. Following high school, she attended Texas Southern University as a pre-law major. Later, she gave birth on November 11, 1964, to her only child, Jovaniel Lee Holloman.

She met the love of her life, George R. “Rene” Brannon, some years earlier, but the timing was not right. Decades later, their paths crossed again. This time, it was God’s time, and they soon became one. They remained a loving and supportive couple. Ms. Brannon was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother Joe. D. Holloman.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Jovaniel “Van” Holloman; granddaughter, ReJina Butler; great-grandson, Isaac; great-granddaughters, Mariah and Zarii; grandson, Quentin, and Floish “Flo” Holloman; great-grandsons, Jeremiah and Zachariah; great-granddaughter, Aniyah; granddaughter, Victoria “VV” Holloman; great-grandson, J’derrian; great-granddaughter, J’Myracle; spiritual daughter, Dominic “Baby Girl” Johnson; spiritual grandsons, E.J., Jaylyn, and Adien; and a host of cousins and friends.
