Tommilyn Green

Funeral services for Mr. Tommilyn Green, 67, of Linden, Texas, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.  Burial will follow at Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral home in Linden.

Tommilyn Green (Thomas), age 67, was born on February 4, 1959, in Linden, Texas, to the late Esta M. Green and Solomon Green Jr. He was the eighth of ten children born to this union.

He was raised in Linden, Texas, where he attended Linden-Kildare High School. Known as “Thomas” to all who knew and loved him, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Linden, Texas.

Following his graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army in 1977. He served honorably until he was medically discharged following an injury.

Upon returning to civilian life, he became a skilled sandblaster. He spent several years working throughout the Houston, Baytown, and East Texas areas.

Above all else, his greatest joy was the people in his life. He truly loved spending time with his family and friends, whether sharing a laugh, telling a story, or simply enjoying their company.

Thomas was deeply sensitive to the needs of others. No matter the time or place, he was always just a phone call away for anyone who needed him. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his four sisters, Shirley Leaks of Linden, Texas, Helen Green of Cedar Hill, Texas, Betty Bowens of Linden, Texas, and Dayte Shavers of Wake Village, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Esta M. Green; father, Soloman Green, Jr.; sisters, Mary Warren, and Idell Hoskins; brothers, James Green, Roy Green, and Cedric Green.
