Funeral services for Mr. Chester Denmark, age 75, of Daingerfield, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Rhodes Heights Cemetery in Daingerfield, Texas, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mr. Denmark will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jewell Chester Denmark was born to R.B. Jones and Zettie M. Jones in Avinger, Texas on December 21, 1947. He attended the Avinger School and when he moved to Daingerfield, he attended J.J. Rhoads, where he graduated. He worked for T & N Lone Star and Red River. He was the overseer of the Rhodes Heights Cemetery, President of the Male Chorus at New Hope Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member.

He is preceded in death byΒ  his parents, R.B. Jones and Zettie M. Jones; one brother, Jackie Jones; one son, Jewell Chester Denmark, Jr.; two daughters, Felicia Catrell Denmark and Timmikki Denise Denmark; two sisters, Janet Lee and Cecelia Bates.

He leaves to mourn, his loving wife of over 15 years, Virgie M. Denmark of Daingerfield; two daughters, Elaine Echols ( Andre) of Dallas, Texas and Shericka Denmark of Daingerfield; four sons, Carlos Evans (Kristala) of Longview, Johnny Chism (Yorshi), Roderick Chism, and Christopher Chism, all of Daingerfield. five brothers, Earl Jones of Wharton, Carl L. Jones (Thelma) of Dallas, Ernest Denmark (Mildred) of Los Angeles, Robert G. Jones (Tina) of Longview, Christopher Jones (Abbie) of Omaha; four sisters, Lillie Carter (William) of Houston, Glinda Mims (James), Sheran James (Butch) of Daingerfield, Elizabeth Davis of Mt. Pleasant; two uncles, Lee Denmark of Avinger, Freddie Denmark of Los Angeles; one great uncle, James Denmark of Longview; two aunts, Linda Denmark and Katherine Denmark of Avinger; special nephew, Tyrodric Mims; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
