Jerry Wayne Strutton, 68, of Linden, passed away December 2, 2023 in Texarkana, Texas surrounded by family and friends after a brief illness.  Jerry was born on April 18, 1955 in Linden, Texas to his parents, Clarence and Millie Ann Strutton and was the youngest of six children.  He worked as a welder for Delta Fabrication of Hughes Springs, Texas  for many years and for Coating Services at International Paper in Domino, Texas and Pineville, Louisiana.
While Jerry ventured outside of Cass County a number of times, the lure of the Piney Woods always drew him back.  He was an East Texas boy at heart who loved his family and enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing.
Jerry is survived by his three children, Selena Bush of Richland Springs, Texas, Amanda McBeth (David) of Ackerman, Mississippi and Wesley Strutton (Leah) of Ackerman, Mississippi and 6 grandchildren, 6 _ great-grandchildren, his siblings Aubrey Strutton (Joan) of Linden, David Strutton (Kelley) of Austin, and sister, Annie Strutton of Linden, along with numerous nieces, nephews and family.  He was preceded in death by an infant child, Jeremy Strutton, his parents, Clarence and Millie Ann Strutton, and brothers, Tommie Strutton and Danny Strutton; and son-in-law, John Bush.
Graveside services will 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Kildare Cemetery with Bro. David Hazelwood presiding and under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the CHRISTUS St. Michael Foundation, 2600 St. Michael Drive, Texarkana, Texas 75503 or the Kildare Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 1774, Kildare, Texas 75562.

I remember Jerry getting on the school bus with his older brothers, my lifelong friends. Jerry was so cute; and he always had a sweet smile on this face, as a child and as an adult. As I remember it, no brothers were coddling him or cutting him any slack. I guess, as the youngest, he had to be tough as a Hickory Nut!
