Born in: Hughes Springs, Texas
Resided in: Hughes Springs, Texas

In loving memory of Larry Collins, who peacefully departed on January 3, 2024. Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Collins, and cherished daughters, Ginger Martire (husband Lino Martire) and Jennifer Milam. He leaves a legacy of love, warmth, and strength embodied in his grandsons, Tommaso Martire, Paolo Martire, Jordan Milam, and Joshua Milam.

Larry was a dedicated employee, contributing 46 years to Kellogg Brown and Root and the owner of Collins Cattle. As a lifelong rancher, he passionately cared for his cattle and the land he loved.

During his lifetime, Larry was a rodeo roper, barber, houseparent at Medina Children’s Home, licensed pilot, and golf champion. His achievements in his pursuits mirrored the determination he brought to every aspect of his life.

Larry is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Collins, mother, Johnnie Faye Collins Walker, brother, Charles Collins, and son, Christopher Collins. While we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man dearly loved. May Larry find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire those touched by his kindness and strength.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Reeder-Davis Chapel. 1. Great gentleman. Always enjoyed talking to. Respect in many ways. Greatly missed. Will miss seeing him on his tractor messing with cattle. Prayers to family and friends

  2. Larry was a kind, good man. I know because I watched him interact with my young sons when they were learning to play golf. He always had time for them, patience with them, and encouraging words. He was a fine gentleman (words you don’t hear much today.)
Sue, please know we grieve with you. Our love and sympathy.
    Steve and Terry Cowan

    • Great guy! Worked with him for 5 years in the warehouse. Would always run into him at the feed store in daingerfield and we would talk laugh and talk about the old days in the warehouse. Rest Easy Ole buddy. Prayers to the family

  5. Candle 8Miss Sue.
I’m so sorry for the passing of your beloved Larry. Momma and Daddy both considered him a good friend. He will be missed.

  6. After high school, Larry and I only got to visit the few times I attended reunions for the HSHS Class of 1960. He remained the same genuinely nice guy that I recall from our school days. He will be greatly missed, I’m sure, by his family, close friends and neighbors. What a great legacy he has left.

  7. Candle 2My sincere condolences to Larry’s family. He was a good man and I was fortunate to know him during his years as a contractor at Eastman. He was a kind hearted man.
