Sabrina Schmidt

Sabrina Schmidt, 67, of Ore City, Texas, passed away at her home on December 2, 2024. Born April 10, 1957, in McAllen, Texas, Sabrina lived a life filled with adventure, love, and resilience.

A strong-willed woman with a heart of gold, Sabrina was deeply cherished by her friends and family. Her life took an unexpected but thrilling turn when she met the love of her life, Alan Schmidt, in Key West, Florida. Alan, a ship captain, and Sabrina embarked on countless adventures together, with Sabrina joining him as his loyal deckhand. Their shared love of the sea and the simplicity of life forged a bond that carried them through many cherished years.

Eventually, Sabrina and Alan settled in the serene countryside of Ore City, Texas, where they enjoyed their retirement surrounded by the beauty of nature. Sabrina was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie; her brother; her sister; and a nephew.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Alan Schmidt; her son; her stepdaughter, Susanne; her step-sons, Michael and Brian; and dear friends Simon and Mindy Lighfoot. Sabrina also leaves behind a number of extended family members and friends who will forever treasure her memory.

In accordance with Sabrina’s wishes, no formal services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City, Texas.
