Graveside services for Mr. Shawn David Stroman, age 42, of Fort Worth, Texas, will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Avinger Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. 

Shawn was born July 15, 1982, to David Paul Stroman and Shirley Ann Watkins Stroman in Gilmer, Texas.  He passed away June 2, 2025.

He was known for his big heart and unwavering generosity.  He touched the lives of many with his kindness, honesty, and boundless willingness to help others.  He was a believer in giving people “second chances”.

A true people person, Shawn had a rare gift for making others feel seen and valued. Whether he was spending time with his beloved children—whom he cherished above all else, or mentoring colleagues and employees, Shawn’s sincerity and warmth shone through in every interaction. He believed in giving more than he took and led his life by example, with integrity and grace.

Shawn held a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, graduating in 2004. He later went on to earn his MBA from Texas A&M University-Commerce. His career in the oil and gas industry was marked by innovation and leadership, and he earned the respect of peers across the engineering field.

Beyond his professional life, Shawn found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially golf and cooking. Whether on the course or in the kitchen, he poured his passion into what he loved, often sharing those moments with family and friends.

Shawn is survived by his loving wife, Alicia Stroman; children: Cole and Savannah Stroman; Father, David Paul Stroman; mother, Shirley Ann Latham, step-father, Jim Latham; brother, Brian Stroman, and wife, Silvia;  mother-in-law, Christy Wall; several aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Shawn’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and heartfelt connection. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

    My heart breaks for you, Savannah and Cole. I am so sorry for the pain that you are going through and wish that I could find a way to ease it. The road forward will be hard, but I know your faith will sustain you. I also know that your friends and relatives will be of great comfort. I’ve known Shawn for decades, both in person but mainly through David’s stories and how proud he was of his son and his accomplishments. Shawn was full of life and an amazing person, always ready to help someone else and bring light to others. He will be always missed and you should know he will be with you from Heaven. May God’s grace go with you and your two precious babies.
