Born in:
Marshall, Texas
Resided in:
Hughes Springs, Texas
Born on May 9, 1959, in Marshall, Texas, to Kenneth Wayne and Emma Hope Woodfin, Mindy embodied the heart of a caretaker. Whether she was doting on babies, spoiling her beloved fur babies, or preparing a warm meal for her family, she gave generously and without hesitation. Nothing made her happier than cooking for those she loved, whether in her own kitchen or someone else’s. Her pinto beans and cornbread were always a comfort, and her chocolate pie was legendary among family and friends.
Mindy was a free-spirit who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved fishing at her favorite spots, tending her garden, and planting flowers that brightened the days of those around her. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering love touched many lives and left lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Wayne Woodfin; grandparents, O.C. Hope and Mary Steve Scott Hope, and James Aaron and Pannie Ruth Voss Woodfin; daughter-in-law, Jessica Gray; her special fur baby, Sam; and dear friends, Margaret and Wiley Pippin.
Mindy is survived by her loving husband, Lance Mason; her mother, Emma Woodfin; children, Misty Qualls and husband Tommy, Aaron Woodfin, and Matthew Gray; step-son, William John-Robert Mason; grandchildren, Kyla, Chandler, Elizabeth, Nina, and Madison; and the “sun in her sky”, great-granddaughter Evelyn Rose. She is also survived by her brothers, Mike Woodfin and wife Charlotte, and Mark Woodfin and wife Kim; sister, Marty Parker and husband Charlie; in-laws, PeeWee and Linda Mason. Among those who held a special place in her heart were Justin and Amy Blackwell, she was nanny to their children, Jack and Allison. Mindy also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends will continue to cherish her memory. She treated everyone like family.

Prayers for Lance, his mom and dad. Prayers sent to all of your family.
I have known Mindy since she was born and she was the cutest baby/child ever. I grew up in the Woodfin household and loved everyone of them like family. My heart breaks for their loss but it is filled with joy that Mindy is no longer feeling any pain. Her soul is now at rest and only knows happiness and fullness in the arms of her Savior. All heartache and disappointment is gone and forgiveness is hers. Fly high beautiful Mindy, fly high!💕
Darling friends Mindy came into this world in the hands of my father. But he was more than her mother’s OB. His very fiber was tightly knit into the fabric of a friendship even until Daddy’s leaving in 2000. Her sparkle was ever present. And she was never still. Her energy guided her days!
Know that THIS tribe shares this huge grief. We lost two brothers within 14 days of each other, and the third, my precious husband 6 months and 3 days after that. Why do I tell you this? Because grief is ever present in every life. Defined as “ love with no place to go”. Be still. Grieve. Know that ThIS circle of love around you shares not only your great joys, but also your great sorrows. With insane love for you all, Sue
Mindy was a rare beauty with a big heart. She was a gentle and loving care taker to many. She loved everyone, especially the Lord. We shared great times in Mavettes and later in life when we were raising our children. Mindy will be missed so much and as my daughter said Heaven just keeps getting better and better! ❤️
