Williamsport, Pennsylvania

Linden, Texas
Born on February 16, 1976, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to Jacqueline and Richard Ramirez, Sr., Rebecca was known for her determination, intelligence, and kind heart. She had a strong sense of purpose and a natural ability to bring people together. These traits guided her throughout her life and career. A graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Civil Engineering, she became a licensed Professional Engineer and dedicated much of her career to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Over the years, she rose through the ranks to become the District Engineer for the Atlanta District, where she led with vision, compassion, and deep commitment to public safety and community impact. Her unexpected passing on July 25, 2025, was a profound shock to her family, colleagues, and the many communities she served.
Rebecca’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was the beloved wife of Kyle Wells for 28 years, and the proud mother of two daughters, Kayden and Kendall. She embraced every moment with her family, whether paddleboarding on the lake, enjoying time at their beach house, or sharing laughter around the dinner table. Her heart was especially full as she looked forward to becoming a grandmother in February, excitedly choosing the name “MaBec.”
Rebecca was an active member of First Baptist Church in Linden, where she mentored and uplifted many young people. Known for her radiant smile, take charge personality, and generous heart, she was admired not just as a leader but as a friend. Her presence lit up every room, and her absence is deeply felt by all who knew her.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Larry Wells. She is survived by her husband, Kyle Wells of Linden; her daughters, Kayden Kendrick and husband Kyle of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Kendall Wells of College Station; her parents, Jacqueline and Richard Ramirez, Sr.; her mother-in-law, Linda Wells; her brother, Richard Ramirez, Jr.; her sister, Kristy Ramirez; her brother-in-law, Kerry Wells and wife Erin; her nieces and nephews, Asher, Alayna, and Breckin Wells; Hunter Ramirez and wife Molly, Haven and Lucas Ramirez; and her beloved dogs, Koda and Maggie Mae. She leaves behind a wide circle of extended family, treasured friends, and her TxDOT family, who mourn her loss deeply.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Linden. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Linden. There will be a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, also at the church.
