Graveside services for Mr. John Robert Jackson, 74, of Lone Star, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City.  Mr. Jackson passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at home in Lone Star.

John was born May 11, 1951 in Marion County, Texas to the late George Ollie Jackson and Mozell Montgomery Jackson.  He joined Grimfield Methodist Church at an early age.  He graduated from Jefferson High School and attended Prairie View A&M University. John spent the majority of his life in Lone Star but also lived in Houston for several years.

John attained the rank of Sergeant while stationed at Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento California while serving as a Security Policeman in the United States Air Force for four years.  He transitioned from military service and worked in security for many years as a civilian.

He was the youngest of his siblings and preceded in death by his parents, brother George Jackson and sister Vernell Miller.

John is survived by his sister, Lanell Morrow of Longview, Texas.  He is also survived by nephews Gus Morrow (Diane), Ricky Morrow (Cora), Dennis Smith, Eric Royal (Penny), nieces Lora Hollins (Tony), Twyla Hynes (Gerald), Katacha Miller (Perry) and a host of great nieces and nephews and his special friend Pam Padgett.

He had a very strong bond with his nephews.  Special thanks to his nephews for the support and help they provided during John’s later years. The regular visits from his nephews meant the world to him.

John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
