Jerry Trumble, Sr. , 82, of Ore City, passed away at his home on October 31, 2025. Jerry was born on April 14, 1943, on his family farm in Naples, Texas, to William Vesta Trumble and Jenoma Irene Brunette Trumble. Jerry attended Naples School for his first two years before continuing his education at Paul Pewitt, where he graduated. During his school years, he was an active athlete, playing both football and basketball for Pewitt.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Jerry served his country with honor, earning several commendations and awards from the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he worked at Red River Army Depot, retiring as an Optical/Electrical Instrument Supervisor.
A dedicated Mason, Jerry was honored to receive his 50-year pin in 2021, recognizing his many years of faithful membership and service to the fraternity.
In retirement, Jerry enjoyed visiting with family and friends, fishing, and playing golf. He was an active member of the gospel singing group Joyful Noise and found great joy in sharing his faith through music. A devoted Christian, he attended church regularly and loved God through Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Nancy Boozer; and his brother, Vesta David “Jer Boy” Trumble.
Jerry is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Julie of League City, Texas; sister, Ramona Collins of Daingerfield; his singing partner and best friend, Leann Lacy of Ore City; nieces and nephew; and his church family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs with Pastor John Montana officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Rocky Branch. A time of visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2025, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Jerry requested that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
