Marilyn Harp

Graveside services for Marilyn Louetta Harp, 79, of Hughes Springs, Texas, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Dennis Cemetery, with Bro. Scott Darby officiating, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Marilyn was born on October 27, 1946, in Henderson County, Texas, to John Herchel Holt and Bobbie Jo Browning Holt. She passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Kilgore, Texas.

Marilyn loved gardening and flowers, and she found joy in cooking and reading her Bible. Above all, she cherished her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Herschel and Bobbie Jo Holt; Her first husband, James C Shaddix; her husband, Bobby Harp; brothers, John Daniel Holt and Joseph Holt; and sister, La-Quita Preston.

Marilyn is survived by her children: Tammy Blankenship, James Shaddix (Mary), Melissa Huggins (Willie) and Jason Shaddix, 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; her siblings, Kathy Jordan, Sheila Fleming, Kittie Chico, Theresa Robertson, Bobby Holt, John Holt and Janet Holt.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
