Colleen Hopkins, 72, of Hughes Springs, passed away on January 22, 2026. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Flossie Colleen Hopkins was born on February 5, 1953, in Sullivan, Indiana, to William Walter and Flossie Mae Fry. Colleen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and a kindhearted woman known for her unwavering dedication to others. Colleen married George Hopkins, and together they shared a loving and supportive marriage built on mutual respect and companionship. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially fishing, and treasured time spent with her family. Colleen’s life was one of quiet strength, love, and service. She was retired after over 40 years as a nurse, dedicating herself to helping and caring for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Flossie Fry; and two sisters, Juanita Cooley and Tracy Fry.  Left to cherish her memory are her husband, George Hopkins; her son, Scott David Wright and wife Jeananne; her daughter, Kimberly Jo Wright; grandchildren, Ryan Wright and Logan Chastain; three step-grandchildren; great-granddaughter, Lydia Wright; and four step great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Wilma Boone, Beth Van Zandt, and Pamela Reyner; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
