Funeral services for Mrs. Phyllis Westmoreland, 83, of Queen City, Texas, will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Dan McGuire officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends beginning one hour prior to service time Thursday at the church.
Phyllis Marie Westmoreland, age 83, of Queen City, Texas, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas.
Phyllis was born on October 22, 1942, in Sedalia, Missouri, the daughter of Clyde and Fay Dey. She shared nearly 50 years of marriage with her loving husband, Edward “Eddie” Westmoreland. Together, they co-owned and operated Westmoreland Concessions, building a business through dedication, perseverance, and hard work.
Phyllis was a strong and capable businesswoman known for her tireless work ethic. Though she appeared tough on the outside, those who knew her well understood she had a soft and generous heart and cared deeply for her family and loved ones.
She was the mother of Derek Wasson of Queen City; Chantay Crews of Greenwood, Missouri; and the late Whitnee Treadway.
Phyllis is survived by her devoted husband, Eddie Westmoreland; four children: Derek Wasson and wife Kathy, Chantay Crews and husband Don, Roger Westmoreland and wife Paula, and Debbie Dennis and husband Bradley; 20 grandchildren: Brent Wasson and wife Emmaly, Ryan Wasson and wife Emily, Austin Wasson and wife Holly, Amanda Whatley and husband Ken, Michael Westmoreland, Tori Payne, Britnee Treadway, Jennifer Ellis and husband John, Tara Tims, Jeremy Westmoreland and wife Danielle, Justin “Corky” Westmoreland, Jason Dennis, Allan Dennis and wife Camellia, Scott Dennis and wife Katie, DJ Westmoreland and wife Erica, and Jeffrey Westmoreland and wife Angie; 42 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by loved ones Steve Sweetin and Eva Ruhl, along with numerous extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Fay Dey; her children, Whitnee Treadway, Danny Joe Westmoreland, and Peggy Stark; son-in-law Tom Stark; and grandchildren Megan Payne, Brealee Treadway, Roger Dale Westmoreland, Jr., and Joseph Westmoreland.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Phyllis’s memory by making a donation in her name to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
