Sue built a dedicated and accomplished career with AT&T, where she served as both a Sales Manager and Sales Representative. She was a proud Union Steward for communications workers, faithfully representing and supporting her colleagues. Her strong work ethic, steady leadership, and caring nature earned her the deep respect of those who worked alongside her.

Beyond her professional life, Sue found her greatest joy in being a devoted wife and mother. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her love into her home and those she cherished most. She also delighted in gardening and was most at peace in her yard, tending to her flowers and fruit trees. She treasured quiet moments on her swing, listening to the birds sing and watching deer pass through. Nature brought her peace, and her yard beautifully reflected the care and beauty she cultivated in her own life.

Sue was a devoted member of Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church and previously served on the Women to Worship committee. Her faith was central to her life and guided her kindness, compassion, and love for others.

She also had a love for travel and formed many dear friendships through her journeys. Sue had a remarkable gift for connection—everyone who met her loved her. Her warm spirit, welcoming heart, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Shelton and Bobbie Jean Bennight Shelton; her son, Steve Follis; and her daughter, Lori Follis.

Mrs. Follis is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Mr. Tommy Follis of Hughes Springs, Texas; her brother, Curtis Shelton and wife, Renee, of Wylie, Texas; her sister-in-law, Vonda Shaddix and husband, Dr. Kit Shaddix; her nephew, Dr. Kyle Shaddix and wife, Dr. Meredith Shaddix, of Pensacola, Florida; her niece, Kourtney Duffie and husband, Jon Duffie, of Ocean City, Maryland; her niece, Carla Culp and husband, Tommy, of Haslet, Texas; and Janet Chism of Hughes Springs, Texas, whom she loved like a daughter.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Elara Hospice, Advantage Home Health Care, and her special caregivers, Melissa, Tatum, Tammy, and Kenzie, for their compassionate care and support.

Sue will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she so beautifully touched.
