Mary L. Cook

Funeral services for Mary Lois Cook, 91, of Longview, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2026, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Burial will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. A time of visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mary Lois Cook passed away on March 6, 2026, in Longview, Texas.

Mary was born on January 8, 1935, in Jefferson, Texas, to Robert and Florence Almond. She was known for her strong personality and honest nature, never leaving anyone in doubt about what she was thinking. Mary was a strong and caring woman who would do anything for anyone. She enjoyed playing bingo, tending to her plants, and spending time with her beloved dogs and family.

Mary retired from the Texas Employment Commission after many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C. J. Cook; her parents, Robert and Florence Almond; four brothers, Artis, Arthur, Joe, and Malcom Almond; and her great-granddaughter, Cheyanne Cook.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresia Cook (Don Worlie); two grandsons, Raymond Cook and Drew Stewart; three great-grandchildren, Layla, D.J., and Maya Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
