A Life Well Lived, A Heart Well Loved
Ta’Larisha Woods, affectionately known as “Nikkie” to her family and friends, was born on October 9, 1977, in Pittsburg, Texas, to her loving mother, Martha Woods.
Nikkie was raised in Pittsburg, Texas, where she attended Pittsburg High School. During her school years, she excelled in basketball and was known for her determination, competitive spirit, and ability to bring people together. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1996 and later attended cosmetology school, pursuing her passion for beauty and self-care.
Nikkie dedicated ten years of service to Trane Technologies, where she worked as a forklift driver. She was a hardworking and dependable employee who took pride in her work and built lasting friendships throughout her career.
On June 24, 1997, Nikkie’s greatest blessing arrived with the birth of her beloved daughter, Nikylia Symone Thomas. From the moment she became a mother, her life was forever changed. Nikylia was not only her daughter but her best friend, her pride and joy, and the center of her world. Their bond was unbreakable, and they were inseparable throughout life’s journey. Nikkie devoted herself wholeheartedly to her daughter, providing unwavering love, support, guidance, and encouragement. The love they shared was evident to everyone who knew them.
Those who knew Nikkie knew she had a vibrant personality and a love for life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed shopping, treating herself to special things, and maintaining an impressive perfume collection. She loved looking her best and took pride in caring for herself. One of her greatest joys was spending quality time with her daughter, exploring new restaurants, sharing meals, laughter, and creating memories together.
Nikkie was a woman whose presence could light up a room. She had a caring heart, a beautiful smile, and a spirit that brought comfort and joy to those around her. She loved deeply, laughed often, and cherished the relationships she shared with family and friends. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched and the love she freely gave.
Ta’Larisha leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Nikylia Symone Thomas of Pittsburg, Texas; her loving mother, Martha Woods of Pittsburg, Texas; her sisters, Sharlee Woods of Pittsburg, Texas, and Nona Byrd of Jefferson, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her beloved nephew, Ty’Keithian Woods.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Nikkie’s love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will remain with us forever. Her legacy lives on through her daughter, her family, and all those blessed to know her.
Forever Loved. Forever Remembered. Forever Missed.
“Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
