Arthur "Al" DeLoach

Graveside services for Mr. Arthur “Al” DeLoach, 91, of Linden, Texas, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2026, at Center Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Friday at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

Arthur “Al” DeLoach, a devoted husband, father, and veteran whose life was defined by hard work and a deep love for his family, passed away peacefully at his home in Linden, Texas, on August 9, 2026, at the age of 91.

Born on April 15, 1935, in Covington County, Alabama, to Larkin and Venera DeLoach, Al carried the values of his Alabama roots throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, a testament to his character and dedication. Following his service, Al became a respected self-employed contractor, spending many years building and fixing things with his own hands.

A faithful member of Linden Methodist Church, Al found joy in the simple things. He was happiest when surrounded by his family, valuing the quiet moments and shared laughter above all else.

Al’s legacy of love lives on through his wife of 70 years, Betty DeLoach. He is also survived by his daughter, Rhonda Shirley; his son and daughter-in-law, Randell and Debra DeLoach; and three sisters, Pat Grimes, Evelyn Fulmer, and Marie Peters. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Katie McWilliams Martin (Jeff), Brandy Belk (Kevin), Joshua McWilliams (Claire), Nathaniel McWilliams (Brooke), Timothy McWilliams, Jaci DeLoach Covington (Ethan), Randell Kane DeLoach (Dora), Callie Shirley Hooper (Cameron), and Eric Shirley (Jordan). His joy was further multiplied by 14 great-grandchildren Kylee Belk, Cayden McWilliams, Lexee Belk, Luke Martin, Gracie McWilliams, Kole Martin, Hudson McWilliams, Rhett Tisdale, Adaline Covington, Isabella Covington, Jace Hooper, Randell James (RJ) DeLoach, Owen Covington, and Wright McWilliams and 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, and his grandson, Nathan DeLoach.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Linden Methodist Church or a veteran-focused charity of your choice, in honor of Al’s service and faith.
