Frankie Calvin Cornish, 82, of Ashdown, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026, in Tyler, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.

Frankie was born August 26, 1943, in Pike County, Mississippi, to Calvin and Joyce Cornish. After graduating from Arkansas High School in Texarkana, he answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Marine Corps. During his military career, Frankie served in Vietnam and proudly devoted 20 years to the Marine Corps before retiring.

Following his military retirement, Frankie worked as a security guard for Ross Perot and later began a career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked until his retirement.

After retiring from the Postal Service, Frankie married the love of his life, Pamela. Together, they shared 20 wonderful years of marriage, making memories and enjoying life together.

Frankie loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were longtime favorites, and he also enjoyed gardening. During the last couple of years, his rose garden became especially important to him, and he took great pride and enjoyment in tending to his roses.

Those who knew Frankie knew that he was never afraid to speak his mind. He was very outspoken about his beliefs and stood firmly for the things he believed in. He will be remembered for his strong personality, his love for his family, his service to his country, and the many memories he leaves behind.

Frankie was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Joyce Cornish; and two special hunting buddies, Sunny and Billy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Cornish; six children, Frank, Jan, Jill, Deborah, Calvin, and Roddy and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Mason and wife, Lindsey, Avery, Jack, and Kaitlyn and husband, Scott; along with numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.

Frankie’s life was marked by service—to his country, through his work, and most importantly, to the family he loved. His memory will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
