Glen Morris Willeford passed away on September 4, 2026. Glen was born in Garland, Texas on December 23, 1942. Glen attended public school and graduated from Garland High School in 1961. He continued his education by earning a bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University, graduating with a double major in business and agriculture.
Glen married his high school sweetheart, Joan Marie Davis on April 9, 1965. A testament to the deep and enduring love they shared, their marriage lasted 61 years. Together they made their home and raised their family in Altus, Oklahoma. In 1996 he retired and he was able to live out his dream of moving to the East Texas Piney Woods.
After college Glen spent a short time working in banking before embarking on a 30 year career in chemical sales with Dow-Elanco.
Glen’s love of the outdoors began in childhood and stayed with him his entire life. From the time he was a small boy he loved deer hunting and squirrel hunting alongside his beloved dogs. He was an avid pigeon flyer and fisherman and he was skilled at woodworking. Glen earned the rank of Eagle Scout, an accomplishment he was proud of throughout his life. Glen was able to travel the world. He visited Japan, Alaska, and later in life, he took a fishing trip to the Amazon, an experience he cherished and talked about for years after.
Glen’s most prominent role was that of provider and protector for his family. He took that job more seriously than any other. He made sure his family knew they were loved, cared for and protected. Glen made sure his family knew that he was in their corner.
Glen was preceded in death by his father, Avon Willeford; his stepfather, Jack Callaway; his mother, Kathryn Willeford Callaway; his sister, Gail Wesberry; and his brother, Gary Parker Willeford.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan Willeford; his son, Ty Willeford, and wife, Rachel, and their children Sarah, Anna, and Leah; his daughter, Amy Bryan, and husband, DeWitt, and their children, Ty and wife, Brenna, and Eli and wife, Michelle; and his three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Linda Willeford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the staff at Chambers Hospice and Titus Regional Medical Center for the exceptional attention and care they provided for Glen in his final days.

So very sorry for your loss! Glen was always telling me something I didn’t know about the Texas Chestnut Trees, my roses, even my honeybees. I loved hearing about his birds! Will miss his big hello and kindness! He will be greatly missed, my friend.
I am so sorry. He is with so many he loved, and suffers no more. Prayers for his family.
I have so many wonderful memories of Glen Willeford. He was a mentor to me when I was a “green kid” fresh out of college. He was knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming, yet stern when needed. He was always willing to listen and offer advice to others.
Glen made a lasting impact on my life, and I know he will be missed by many. I’m grateful to have known him and to have learned from him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, Joan, Ty, Amy and all who loved him.
