Jimmie Sue "Jim" White

Graveside services for Jimmie Sue “Jim” White, 91, of Atlanta, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Antioch Cemetery in Atlanta, Texas, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. Jeff Chapman will be officiating.

Jim was born June 24, 1935, to James “Dutch” and Lora McWaters. She was born at home in her grandparents’ dogtrot house, a beginning that reflected the simple, home-centered life she would always treasure.

Jim found her greatest happiness in making a home and caring for the people she loved. She loved being outdoors and appreciated the simple beauty of nature. Growing up, she played the piano in church, and throughout her life she enjoyed attending church and gospel singings.

If you knew Jim, you knew how much she loved being at home. One of her favorite ways to spend her time was watching the birds outside with her beloved dogs and any babies she could get her hands on. Home, family, faith, and the simple pleasures of life brought her great joy.

Above all, Jim loved her family and was proud of them. She treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and friends, and the memories they made together will continue to be cherished for generations.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James “Dutch” and Lora McWaters; her husband, Charles White; her daughter, Jacquelyn “Jack” Williams; and her son, Rick White.

Jim is survived by her children, T.J. White and wife, Melinda of Odessa, Charlotte Chapman and husband, Jeff of Atlanta, and Lora Leigh “Leesie” Mayfield of Atlanta; her grandchildren, Katie Steward, Will Williams, Keverlie Brown, Landon White, Jessica Valentine, Naomi Ahmed, Jacob Chapman, Aidan Chapman, Haileigh “Cal” Mayfield, and Journey Grace Mayfield; and her great-grandchildren, Tommy, Lilly, Lyndsey, Jackson, Grant, Asher, and Brylee.

The family would like to extend a special thank you and their love to the staff of Rose Haven and Heritage Hospice for the kindness, care, and compassion shown to Jim and her family.

Jim leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and a love for home, a place where she was happiest, surrounded by those she loved, her dogs, and the birds outside her window.
