Josh was born on July 15, 1979 in Houston, Texas to Judy Surratt and Randy Johnson. He was a proud, dedicated, and loving father whose world revolved around his children, Ethan, Lucas and Sawyer. Being a dad was his greatest joy and highest calling. Everything he did—was done with immense love and complete dedication to his boys.

Josh faced his illness with the same strength, optimism, and resilience that characterized his whole life. Even during the hardest days of his treatment, his primary focus remained on his boys and ensuring they felt loved, safe, and supported.

Josh graduated from Texas A&M University in Texarkana, with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and worked as a planner at Lockheed Martin. He was a 1997 graduate of Linden Kildare High School and remained a lifelong L-K Tiger fan, known for his big heart and love of life. He was a valued member of the Texarkana community as well, where he was known for his generous spirit and a friend to everyone he met. He leaves behind two grateful communities and a legacy of kindness that will never be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his mother Judy Surratt and his grandparents Richard and Patricia Stanford and Shirley Williams.

Josh is survived by his beloved children Ethan Ripley, Lucas Johnson and Sawyer Johnson; his father Randy Johnson and wife Rose; his sisters Shannon Mitchell and husband Jason, Kaitlyn Johnson, Kristyn Johnson, Kelsey Johnson; brother Randy Michael Johnson. And a host of cherished extended family members and close friends who will miss his unwavering kindness and contagious smile.
