Services for David Morrison McKinney, 66, of Lone Star, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Mr. McKinney will lie in state from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. McKinney was born on February 16, 1950 and passed away December 9, 2016. He concerted with Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church at a young age and remained a member until his death. David was an alumni member of Victory High School class of 1967. He extended his education with attending Prairie View A & M University.

Davids love for truck driving gave him the opportunity to see the United States for over 2 decades. He also achieved one of his lifetime goals of owning his own company M & M Trucking.

Mr. McKinney is preceded in death by his father, Jewel Chester McKinney. He leaves to cherish his memories: children, Russell (Yolanda) McKinney, of Middletown, Delaware, Terra McKinney of Dallas, Texas; mother, Ernestine Montgomery of Lone Star, Texas; brothers, Ricky (Ronder) Montgomery of Longview, Daryl Montgomery of Lone Star, Texas; grandkids, Cameron and Darrail; Nephew, Tremaine Montgomery; nieces, Ashley Montgomery, Raquel Montgomery and Alexandria Montgomery; aunts, Ozene Bryson, Deser Walker, and Izetta Montgomery; uncle, Raymond Montgomery; and a host of cousins and friends.
