Services for Mrs. Ruth Johnson, 84, formerly of Lone Star, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnson was born January 3, 1932 and passed away July 22, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Johnson; and sister, Catherine Cox.
She is survived by her children, Ben Johnson of Houston, TX, and Glenda Swanson and husband, Wally of The Woodlands, TX; brothers, John Ward and wife, Sue of Wichita, KS, Phil Ward and wife, Sue of Pooler, GA; sister, Mary Cutrell and husband, Claude of Daingerfield, TX; brother-in-law, Bill Cox of Murfreesboro, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Mrs. Johnson for their loss especially my good friend and her son, Ben C. Johnson, of Houston, Texas. While I only knew Mrs. Johnson via telephone, I found her to be a very kind and loving wife and mother I am glad I had the opportunity to speak with. My thoughts will be with you all especially Ben. His care for her and management of her affairs was very touching to me.
