Oscar Dean Davis

May 24, 1941 ~ March 4, 2016
Oscar joined the military when he was 17, and spent four years in the Army. After charge, he worked various jobs, but primarily spent the remainder of his career as a truck driver.
He is survived by two sister, Mary Ida Akins and Dora Ann Lamb, seven children, Randy Davis, David Davis, Melissa Davis-Evans, Kristy Deann Hawkins, Rosalinda Davis-Moss, Oscar Dean Davis, Jr., Sabrina Davis Escamilla; 14 grandchildren, Heather Davis-Jacox, Mark Anthony Davis, Lillian Pearl Davis, Kyle Davis, Bryan Davis, Kayleigh Davis, Dylan Evans, Justi n Evans, Kody Wayne Hawkins, Mary Hawkins, Troy Moss, II, Noah Moss, Olesia Mae Davis, Jse Escamilla, III; and three great grandchildren, Adelynn Cunningham, Collin Jacox, and Marcella Davis; and a special friend, Amanda Roberts.Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at Cherokee Cemetery in Gilmer under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
My thoughts and prayers are with my family, especially my cousins. May he rest in peace.
You will be truly missed, Grandpa Chief! I regret that our little Olesia Mae didnt get to spend more time with you! You can watch over her now & watch her grow from heaven where you will no longer be in pain. My heart is heavy & Im saddened that youre no longer with us but with that I also feel comfort in knowing that youre no longer suffering & that youre in a much better place!
