Good MemoriesThere are so many memories I have of Houston and our time together. He was a very loving man and humbled himself to his friends and family. He would give you whatever you needed or wanted if it was within his means or if he could find a way to make it happen. Fishing, hunting, and BBQ were his most favorite things to do. He would come home on a Friday night after work and say Lets have a BBQ and get the family over to the house for a party. It was on… He would smoke meats and loved to test it while cooking. I remember one morning, he was cooking breakfast for everyone. He had a pound of bacon out on the counter and cooked it all. By the time he was done… there were only 4 pieces of bacon left. He said I had to taste it to make sure it was done then gave that big smile and laughed. He was such a good cook and loved to grow veggies in the garden. He wanted food growing outside, he was not too interested in trees and flowers. We had a large garden every year and grew some wonderful lettuce, Okra, peppers, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, and so much more. Houston was all about food and eating good. He taught me how to cook and prepare certain foods. We enjoyed our time cooking together, especially making his Nannys traditional dressing during the holidays. There is so much more that could be said about Houston, he loved life itself and every day was a new beginning. I will truly miss his laugh and outlook on life. He used to always tell me Its alright baby doll, we will get thru this just like we always have. Most of all, I will miss he telling me I love you, baby doll.To the true love of my life, the support, strength, and positive outlook that he gave.
