Services for Mrs. Joyce Ann McDaniel Ogden, 73 of Harleton, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2015 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City, with Bro. Will Sherman and Bro. Craig Evers officiating. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in Harleton, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. There will be a time of visitation from 3 until 5 on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Mrs. Ogden was born October 17, 1942 to Wiley and Mamie McDaniel in Cass County, Texas. She passed away peacefully on December 4, 2015 at her home in Harleton, Texas. She married Robert Ogden on August 21, 1959 in Avinger, Texas. Joyce was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a Sunday school teacher and nursery director for 39 years at Harleton Baptist Church where she was a member. Several generations of children were loved and taught by Miss Joyce. She also cared for children in her home for many years. Joyce was the primary caregiver for her father-in-law and mother-in-law. She was a loving wife, mother, and Memaw who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Ella Barrett and Margie Hampton; brothers: Charles, Oran, Ray and Joe McDaniel. Her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Bernice Ogden also preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 56 years, Robert Ogden; two daughters and sons-in-laws: Genia and Jeff Morris, Patti and Glenn Nelson; three grandchildren and spouses: Brandon and Mollie Ogden, Amy and Jeffrey Wilson, Amanda and David Smith. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Mallory Ogden, Logan Wilson, Laney Wilson, Karley Kenward; two sisters: Elizabeth Dudley and Lela Moncrief; brother and wife, Bobby and Linda McDaniel.

  2. Miss Joyce loves on and taught all three of my boys for many years in the nursery. She made such an impact on them. They would always go by the nursery, long after their nursery days were over, to say hello to their Miss Joyce. She had such a bond with the children she ministered to. I am so thankful God let my boys be loved by Miss Joyce. She was a caring and gentle woman and is very missed.

  4. We are so saddened to learn of Mrs Ogdens passing.. While we didnt know her very well, we did have occasion to visit with her at her home while going over work with Robert.
