Services for David Thomas, 70, of Cornett, will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Hughes Springs. Burial will follow at Cornett Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Visitation with the family will be from 6 until 8 Thursday evening at First United Methodist Church in Hughes Springs. Mr. Thomas was born March 22, 1945 in Linden and passed away September 1, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.H. and Francis Thomas; sisters, Nell McKelvey, Kat Wooten, Rachel Benjamin, Alice Hill; and great-grandson, Tyler Alexander. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Thomas; his daughter, Shannon and husband Bit Griffin of Cornett; son, Jeremy and wife Rachel Thomas of College Station; brothers: Sam Thomas and Charles Thomas; grandchildren: Alys Alexander, Shay Caraway, Marci Singletary, Daughton Singletary, Quinton Singletary, Brittney Payne, Bailey Thomas, Jordan Thomas, Carly Griffin, and Grace Griffin; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
