Funeral services for Thomas Wayne Bowers, 84, of Ore City, will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Ore City with Bro. Randal Trull and Bro. Ken Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Ore City Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Ore City. There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 6:00pm 8:00pm at the Funeral Home. Mr. Bowers passed away Friday, August 7, 2015. Mr. Bowers was born March 31, 1931 in Nashville, Arkansas. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, where he fought in the Korean War. He received his MBA from East Texas Baptist University and eventually retired from Lone Star Steel. He was involved in running several area businesses over the years, was an avid bird hunter, a Mason, and a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Ore City where he served for many years as chairman of the deacons and as the Adult III Sunday School teacher. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bobbie Bowers of Ore City; son, David Bowers and Mary of Houston, TX, daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Gregg Fountain of Daingerfield; six grandchildren Brittney and Ray Cronin, Sonya Haley, Paul Carter, Heather Bowers, Lacey Carter, and Holly Fountain-McDowell. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Carlton Bowers; one brother, Jimmy Bowers; one sister, Emogene McMurray; and one grandson, Eric Haley.

A Christian man, who placed honesty, friendship,and integrity of high value. To have had Wayne as a friend, was far greater, than all the riches of the world. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by the many who loved him. We love you, Mr Wayne!
