Clark Moore, Jr. was born April 18, 1925 to the parentage of Gussie Marie Finley and Clark Moore, Sr. He was known as Rip and OW Moore. He grew up in Daingerfield, TX an attended Daingerfield Public School before entering the Army where he received and honorable discharge. He worked at T&N Warehouse and Atlas Trucking. He was known all over town as the one to call if you had plumbing problems. If he couldnt come, he would tell you what to do over the phone, even from his sick bed. He united with New Hope Baptist Church at an early age and later attended New Jerusalem Baptist Church in his community until his health failed. He married the love of his life, Ella Mae James, on May 4, 1946. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae; mother, Gussie Lynn; father, Clark Moore, Sr.; step-father, Otis Lynn; sister, Earlie Marie Morgan; one grandson; one great-grandson; and one great great-grandson. He leaves to cherish his memories five children: daughters, Mary (Tim) Jones of Daingerfield, Wilella Wilkerson of Dallas, Arvis (Freddie) Hatten of Hughes Springs; sons, Art (Gail) Moore of Biloxi, Mississippi, William (Brenda) Peppers of Lone Star; special nephews, James (Laura) James of Daingerfield, Tommie Linwood of Gladewater; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hurndon of Arlington; special friend, Clarine Banks of Avinger; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 36 great great-grandchildren; special caregivers and helpers, Barbara, Travis, Linda, Johnny, Jazz, Jasmine, and Vernon Love; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. friends. Services for Mr.Moore will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Rhodes Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mr. Moore will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
