Malvia Hatten Peppers was born September 15, 1922 to Otha D. Jimmerson and Sonny Boy Hatten. She attended public school in Daingerfield, Texas. She accepted Christ at an early age in life at Liberty United Methodist Church, where she was a faithful member until her health failed. Malvia Peppers departed this life Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by husband, Henry C. Peppers; two sons, Melvin Holloman and Joezell Rushing, Jr.; and one grandson, Joe Holloman, Jr. She leaves to mourn her passing, three sons, Joe (Mary) Holloman, Lawrence Holloman, and Verdell (Tonnia) Rushing; two sisters, Pearline Jones and Rosie Richardson; one brother, Freddie (Arvis) Hatten, all of Hughes Springs; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Peppers will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
