Willie Lynn Dowell was born December 9, 1964 to Willie V. Dowell and the late Louisa P. Dowell in Avinger, Tx. The third of six children, was called to rest on April 24, 2015. He joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Avinger High School in Avinger, Tx. He was employed at Tubeoscope for ten plus years. Family was very important to him. He cherished and loved his parents, sisters, and brother, but most of all, his nieces and nephews. He had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. If you knew him or met him he could put a smile on your face and laughter in your heart. Bubba never met a stranger!!! He was preceded in death by his mother, Louisa P. Dowell. He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted father, Willie V. Dowell; five sisters, Janet (William) Chism of Lone Star, Dennie Dowell of Euless, Yolanda (Gerald) Hatten of Hughes Springs, Karen Dowell of Avinger, Kimberly (Jonathan) Mickens of Naples; one special brother who he was very close to, Daren Dowell of Pittsburg; one uncle, Earnest Bolden of Avinger; one aunt, Johnetta Bolden of Dallas; ten nephews; three nieces; two very special nieces, Shay and Jordyn Dowell; six great nephews; two very special buddies, Karon Garrett and Duke Terry; and a host of cousins, family, and friends. Services will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Cemetery in Hughes Springs. Mr. Dowell will lie in state from noon until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
