Eloise Watkins Chamblee passed away, Friday, November 21, 2014, in Baytown, TX. She was born February 20, 1921 in Hughes Springs, TX to her late parents, Oscar and Eula Watkins, Sr. Eloise was a forty nine year resident of Linden, TX. While in Linden, she was an active member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Training Union for many years. She was a homemaker of many talents such as sewing (making all of her own clothes and those of her daughter), various needlecrafts, canning and freezing, vegetable and flower gardening, and one of the best cooks around. She also worked for many years in a grocery store and dry goods store. In 1988 she unselfishly moved to Baytown to be near her children and grandchildren. While in Baytown she was active at Memorial Baptist Church through her Sunday School class and Singing Saints. She also loved her Houston Texans football team. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. C. Chamblee, her parents, and her brother, O. N. Watkins. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Rita Chamblee of Georgetown; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Roy Stone of Baytown; grandchildren, Rodney and Karen Chamblee of Katy, Eric and Kim Chamblee of Round Rock, LeeJayne Stone of Nashville, TN, and Heath and Erin Stone of Commerce City, CO; great-grandchildren, Emma, Timothy, Russell, Luke, Austin, and Keraly Chamblee and Avery and Morgan Stone; and special niece, Glenda Wood of Plano, TX. Her family will receive friends Monday, November 24, 2014, at the Memorial Baptist Chapel, 600 W. Sterling St., Baytown, TX 77520 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Randy Piatt officiating. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs, TX. Serving as pallbearers will be Rodney Chamblee, Eric Chamblee, Heath Stone, and Roy Stone. Honorary pallbearers will be LeeJayne, Avery, and Morgan Stone and Emma, Timothy, Russell, Luke, Austin, and Keraly Chamblee. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the Benevolence Fund at Memorial Baptist Church or the charity that honors the donator.
