Services for Earlton Bootsy Vaughn, 86, of Daingerfield, will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at Clark Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Vaughn was born November 18, 1927 and passed away October 19, 2014. He married Opal Louise Tallant on January 25, 1955. Bootsy was a member of Jenkins Methodist Church, served in the US Army, and retired from Lone Star Steel after 46 years and five months. He was a Master Mason and over the years, served as Worshipful Master, Royal Arch Mason, Excellent High Priest, Royal Select Master, Illustrious Master, Knight Templar, and Eminent CommanderPreceptor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Dollie Vaughn; one daughter, Mary Louise Wallace; three brothers, Clarence Vaughn, Herbert Vaughn, and Floyd Vaughn; four sisters, Allie Thomas, Opal Hare, Erma Vaughn, and Goldie Waldon. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Opal Vaughn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery and Tina Vaughn, Robert Lee and Kelly Vaughn all of Daingerfield; one daughter, Shirley Leona Smith of Henderson; four grandchildren, Randy Ray Vaughn, Jennifer Michelle Vaughn, Amber Nicole Vaughn, and Wendy Michelle Vaughn; and five great-grandchildren.
