Mrs. Margaret Ann Beekman was born July 16,1946 in Cynthiana,Ohio and died September 9,2014 at her home in Ore City, Texas after a long courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis and cancer. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was known as Grandma by many and who will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Ore City. Burial will follow at Ore City Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Margaret was a homemaker after retiring from upholstery work for many years. She loved working on crafts of all kinds from candlemaking to woodwork, sewing, crocheting, painting and decorating. She spent her spare time sitting on the front porch drinking coffee and spending time with her children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great-grand children were her pride and joy and could do no wrong Margaret is survived by her daughters, Theresa Lee Walker, Kimberly Ann Garcia and husband Lance, Cynthia Marie Carter and husband Mike, and Robin Renee Reynaga and husband Juan all of Ore City; 11 grandchildren, Sabrina McBride Rowe and husband Chris, Leah Garcia Woods and husband Justin, Tiffany Watson Cooper and husband Terry, Patrick Garcia, Myeisha Gilstrap, Whitney Carter, Tyeisha Gilstrap, Kendrick Gilstrap, Tyler Carter, Jonathan McBride and Ashley Hayes; three great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Cooper, Addyson Harroff, and Cadence McTyre; brother, Larry Jenkins; two sisters, Ruby Taylor and Louise Metzger; and a special niece, Shirley Bond. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Kenneth Lee Beekman in December; her parents, James Earnest Jenkins and Dorothy Marie Knisley Jenkins; her sister, Mary E. Hammond who helped raise her and her brothers, Joe, Russell, and Frank Jenkins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the many caregivers who took care of our loved one over the last few months as she fought a courageous battle. A special thank you to Dr. Arthur Frankel and nurse Amber, Deb at HeartsWay Hospice, and Dr. April Gatson.
