Mary Coleman

Funeral services for Mary Coleman, 95, of Ore City will be 11:00am, Monday, March 24, 2014 at Ore City Methodist Church with Rev. David Williamson and Rev. Doug Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Ore City Cemetery. Mrs. Coleman was born August 8, 1918 in Joaquin, Texas and died March 21, 2014 in Longview. She was the daughter of Albert Beckham Hoard and Lillie Rae Owens. She was a graduate of Joaquin High School and later attended nursing school. She also worked in an aircraft factory in Grand Prairie where she met her future husband, Charles Coleman. She was a member of Ore City Methodist Church and Ore City Garden Club. She enjoyed painting and she was an accomplished seamstress and a devoted mother and housewife. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Charles Coleman; daughters Glenda Purcell and husband Dr. Vahid Bagherian; Beth Thacker and her husband Phillip; sons Chuck and wife Carolyn of Ore City; and John of Ore City. Six grandchildren and thirteen great- grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City.
