Bobbie Hendricks

La Barba Hendricks, age 76, died at her long-time home in the Cantebury Convalescent Home, in Hillsboro, Texas, on Saturday, February 15, 2014. Known as Bobbie by her family, she was born at 3:00 PM on March 30, 1937, in Hughes Springs, Texas, the child of John Nelson Hendricks, II, and his beloved wife, Juanita, known as Nita to the family. Bobbie far exceeded her projected life span, all from the perspective of a child's innocent mind. She was lovingly cared for by her Uncles and Aunts, after Juanita died tragically, very young (in her mid 20s), and Nelson also died young, at age 42, in a car accident in March 1958. Nelson had previously married Aevonne Troutman, producing our cousin John Nelson Hendricks, III, "Jim", who had John Nelson Hendricks, IV, Jimmy. Surviving Bobbie are her nephew (half) Jimmy, her Uncle Sherrell and Aunt Anne, Uncle BJ and Aunt Machie, Aunt Ann, and many first, second and third Hendricks cousins. The family is grateful to the dedicated caregivers for Bobbie at her Cantebury home. Bobbie had a sweet disposition and was known as their Sweet Baby. It is with a sense of peace that we lift up our Bobbie for the loving reunion she deserves with her Mother, Father and brother. Internment services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 19, at The Friendship Cemetery, Hughes Springs, Texas under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.
