Riva Dolores White

Riva Dolores White was born November 28, 1928 in Sayre, Oklahoma, and passed away January 22, 2014 in Hughes Springs. Riva was an avid animal lover and loved to play basketball. She retired from Daingerfield High School where she coached P.E. for many years. She was the founder of the Daingerfield girls basketball and volleyball teams. She also announced at local rodeos and she was a Methodist. Riva is preceded in death by her mother, Jewell Robertson; father, Cuber Robertson; and one daughter, Debbie White. Survivors include four children, Marcy White and wife Lois, Kevin White and wife Frances, Dina White-Dickson and husband David, and Rheta White and life partner Brandi Capps; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, C. L. Robertson and wife Iva Jane Robertson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be left in care of Marilyn Cross, Activities Director, The Springs Nursing Center, 704 N. Taylor, Hughes Springs, 75656. No services will be held.
