LINDENVernon Joel Staner., 80 , of Linden, passed away Wednesday , December 18, 2013 at his home. He was born January 27, 1933, in Baytown, TX., to Harvey Albert and Katherine Mae VanNatter Staner. Mr. Staner worked for Lone Star Steel. Survivors include one daughter, Johanna Staner of Linden, two sons, Albert Staner of San Antonio, TX., and Joel Staner of Longview, TX.; four grandchildren, Shakota, Tia, Emily and Angelyna; two brothers David Harvey Staner (Madaline) of Alvin, TX., William Staner (Judy) of Daingerfield, TX.; two sisters, Joanna Lee Lakin of Columbus, TX and Rolena Staner Bennett Cooling of Baytown, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Inez Staner. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 21, 2013 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.
