LINDEN TXPatricia Thorp Higgins, 49, of Linden, passed away June 20, 2013 at her home in Linden. She was born October 21, 1963 in Charlotte, North Carolina to James Richard and Doris Jane Snowdy Massey. She was a homemaker. She was preceded her in death, by her son, Mark Thorp and a sister, Edith Coleman. Survivors include three daughters, Cassandra Dunlap, Elizabeth Thorp and Amy Walters; her mother, Doris Massey; four brothers, Russell Waller, Ricky Massey, Paul Massey and John Massey; five grandchildren, Justin Dunlap, Zoey and Savannah Valeu, Kaylee Walters, Megan McCreery; and a host of other family and friends. Graveside services will be at 2:00pm, Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Linden Cemetery. Interment is under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Saturday at the funeral home.

    Years ago my parents made the decision that when their time came they wanted Reeder Davis to handle their burial services, So as hard as it is to lose your parents their time to go did come and when it did, We relied on Reeder Davis to help our family through the arrangements that needed to be made and all I can say is their commitment, compassion and their understanding made such a difficult process much easier. Our funeral director Amy, from our first meeting to our last was so kind, She shared in our laughter of funny memories and she shared in our tears seeing our grief. My sister suddenly passed away a month after my dad and again, Kris and Amy were there to help us and we were so grateful. Kris, Thank you for the care you gave to us and for being so kind and thoughtful. I will never forget everything that all of you did for my family .

Chris is so caring and thoughtful and was able to help me make it through the entire process of caring for Keith and my family until the final burial. He made the journey of death so much easier by his respect for our needs and his compassion for our pain and sorrow. I have known his staff for a long time and they also helped lighten our sorrow by their outpouring of love and compassion. Reeder-Davis also took care of my precious mom when she passed away three years after Keith. I still hug Chris and thank him whenever I can for helping me through losing loved ones.
