I did not know her, but thought highly of her children. My sympathy.
Stuart so sorry for the loss your Mother. Way back when, we lived around the corner from you on Alamo street our mothers were mothers to all of us, that's just the way things were. She will be missed.
Bille Dove was so precious. I went to church with her, worked at school with her, and had the honor of counting myself as one of her friends. I never heard her utter a bad word about anyone. She was fun and funny, talented and humble, giving and wise. I have lived away from Lone Star for 20 years, but have thought of her often. Heaven has an angel.
My sympathy to the family. She was a gracious lady.
My condolences to the Hughes family. Harold was a nephew of my father, John Wesley May. Haven't seen Billie Dove since I was a teenager. Still remember that smile.
Stuart, your mother was so sweet, I will miss seeing her smiling face. Keeping you and your brothers in my prayers.
Thank you God for letting me be her son and keep her for so long!

To Stuart, John, David and the extended Hughes Family; with deepest regrets and condolences. Billie Dove was one of the finest and most graceful Human Beings that I ever knew. Mrs. Hughes was my fifth grade teacher at Lone Star Elementary. She was the sweetest lady who taught me alot.I wish there were teachers now like her.
Our precious Mama will always be missed. We take great comfort in knowing that she has been called home to be with our Lord and Savior. She lived every day in service to the Lord. We have many wonderful memories of her through the years to hold dearly. I am so thankful that she was my precious Mother-In-Law. A kinder, sweeter, more thoughtful one I could not have asked for…..She was the best! We love you Mama and you will be in our hearts forever.
One of those few and far between teachers that you never forget. She taught me in 5th grade at Lone Star Elementary where I shared Valedictorian. Lol! Will always hold a special places in my heart. Our earth got a little darker.
