Treece Ferrell

LINDEN Treece Dee Ferrell, 84, of Linden, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Ferrell was born November 1, 1928 in Linden to A.D. and Minnie Ola Anderson Surratt. She worked 35 years in the ASCS office, served as City Judge for Linden and was secretary of the Linden Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Linden United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Kern Braswell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Katie Fant of Linden and Donna Allen and husband, Jeff, of Tulsa; a great granddaughter, Anslee Fant of Linden; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Ferrell, four brothers, Edward, V.L., Aaron D, and James Nubbin Surratt, and her parents. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. Rev. Jason York will officiate. Interment will be in Linden Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

I was privileged to know Treece through the Martha McCraw Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She had been a member of DAR since 1997. We have missed her the last few years, but she will always be remembered as a gracious lady and patriotic friend.
