Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. It saddens me greatly and brings my own mortality close to home knowing that Jimmy has passed on;I believe to a better place of indescribable peace. His memory will always be etched in my mind as a teammate of both football and basketball in the school years 1966/1967 and 1967/1968 and a graduating classmate of the 1968 class at Daingerfield High School. Jimmy was a humble, gentle spoken man but a fierce competitor. He helped lead the way with dignity and class as one of the first African-Americans to begin the integration process at DHS.Though I have not seen him much, other than a few Tiger football games over the years, I have always been proud to remember him as a friend. My deepest sympathy to Jimmy's family and many friends. Jerry Russell

  2. To the Chism family, our prayers and love are with you. Jimmie will be sorely missed, but he is at peace and I know God will give you comfort as only he can do.

  5. Jimmy will always be remembered by his Daingerfield Tiger teammates as very unselfish, good-natured and a leader. He will be missed by the DHS Class of 1968. I love his memorial photo in the football jersey… but I still see him in Tiger blue with a number 87 on it.

  12. I believe I worked with Mr. Chism at the LSS rod mill in the early 80's before I moved away. I recall he was always cheerful and calm, despite all the chaos that was common in the plant in those years. Rest easy, sir.
