LINDEN TX-Funeral services for Frances L. Hess, 82, of Red Hill, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Linden United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Center Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00pm Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hess was born November 8, 1929 in Cass County, Texas to Parks and Louella Lee. She passed away August 20, 2012 at a Linden hospital. She was one of the first female employees to be hired by Alcoa and was the last employee to leave when the plant in Marshall was closed. She and her husband, Jack I. Hess, lived in Marshall for many years. When he passed away in 1990 she returned to Red Hill to live on the family farm where she grew up. Frances was a member of Greggton United Methodist Church, in Longview, Crossroads United Methodist Church and Linden United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband ; two sisters Inez Bridges and Faye Bowden. Survivors include one son Ken Hess, of Red Hill; two sisters Lorriane Lee, of Red Hill and Melba McCall, of Douglassville; one niece Janet Bowden, of Red Hill; and two great nephews Alex and Miles McDaniel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to Center Grove Cemetery or Linden United Methodist Church.
