Services for Tommy Lynn Armstrong, 62, of Lone Star, will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Reeder-Davis Chapel, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc., of Hughes Springs. Tommy Armstrong was born July 16, 1950 and passed away July 31, 2012. Mr. Armstrong is preceded in death by his father Billy Ray Armstrong. Survivors include his mother and step-father Mary Jean and John Beckham, of Hughes Springs; one daughter Carol Roe and husband Lewis of Diana; one brother Jimmy Armstrong and wife Donna, of Longview; one sister Nancy Long and husband Ken, of Conroe, Texas; one granddaughter Allee Roe; and a special, loving friend Lanell Matthews.

  3. MemoriesHe was so excited when I finally caught my first fish I thought he was going to explode with laughter! It was about a 1 lb. perch that he fried up for me that night. haha I'll never forget that.He had such a big heart.. If he ever had to get on to me as a child, which was next to never, he alway came back and told me he was sorry and how much he loved me.He took me on my first trip to Six Flags and my first concert. We saw Alabama, and I thought I was somethin riding in that sharp sports car he had. He always made me laugh.

  8. Mike and I were so sad to hear of Tommy's passing. He was one of Mike's dearest friends and they shared a lot of good memories. And even though they didn't see much of each other after they got older, Mike will always remember him and all the fun times they had together.

  10. The Double Two StepYears ago we spent hours in the living room two stepping to Neon Moon.He didn't have a clue at first but mastered it wonderfully! Many years later at the Iron Bluf Neon Moon came on and we danced. WOW!!! He was the best double two stepper ever!

  15. I just learned of Tommy’s death on 5/25/20025. I am really bummed out about it. Tommy and I were in Military Police training at Fort Gordan, Georgia. After training, we were both sent to Pusan, Korea to be MPs. We were both Texans and soon became best friends. We partnered up when ever possible. I trusted Tommy with my life many times. We were in several scrapes and had many adventures. We always had each other’s backs in those scrapes and I never had to turn around to see if he was still there. Even though the last time we got to visit was about forty years ago, I miss my friend and think of him often. Larion Crumley “old man” as I was called.
