LINDEN TX-Robert Marion Duncan, 86, of Avinger passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his home. He was born August 10, 1925 in Cass County, Texas to Thomas Lee and Ruby Pyland Duncan. Mr. Duncan was lead assemblyman and paint shop foreman for Standard Manufactoring in Dallas from which he retired in 1983. He was an avid bowler, worked in Pro Shops and drilled his own bowling balls. Mr. Duncan was a natural engineer having created his own farm equipment. He was also a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Linden and served during WWII in the Navy. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mary Alice Duncan of Avinger; a son, Charles Duncan of Plano; two grandchildren, Stacy Duncan and Matt Duncan; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Joseph, Daniel, and Heather; nephew, Rodney Duncan; a special friend, Jackie Hale and many other family members and a host of friends. Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, July 9, 2012 at Bear Creek Cemetery with Bro. Bryan Baggett officiating. Interment is under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc., in Linden.
