LINDEN TX Tommy Joe Lansdale, 62, of Avinger passed away June 2, 2012 at his home in Avinger. He was born July 31, 1949 in Gilmer, Texas to Charles and Bobbie Wheeler Lansdale. He was employed in the steel industry and was an Air Force Viet Nam veteran. Mr. Lansdale is survived by three sons, Jesse Lansdale and wife, Shannon, of Linden, Greg Lansdale of Longview, Michael Lansdale of Ore City; a daughter, Christy Lansdale Glaze of Montgomery, Texas; two brothers, Jerry Lansdale and Charlie Lansdale both of Athens; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Sammy Rankin of Hughes Springs; several grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be at 10:00am, Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Hughes Springs with Pastor Ben Aguirre officiating.

Shirley,So sorry to hear of Tommy's passing, especially so soon after your mother. I pray that God will comfort you during this time and hold you and your family in His loving arms.
I just today, June 13, heard of Tommy's passing. Tommy was a schoolmate of mine and my brothers (JT, Jimmy, Bob, Donald & Jack) and sister (Jayne) in Ore City. Tommy was always such a nice person and we were all proud of his service to our country. Please know that we are remembering the family in our prayers. God draws very close to those who mourn. God bless you at this sad time.
