Funeral services for Edd Russell Shorty Phillips, 77, of Daingerfield, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 13 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with Rev. Scott Darby officiating. Burial will follow at Bradfield Chapel Cemetery in Daingerfield under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. He was born August 13, 1931 in Morris County, TX and passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at his home. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife of 50 years Peggy Dodd Phillips; two daughters and one son-in-law Shirley and Michael Bearden of Greenville, TX and Binky Holsopple of Daingerfield, TX; one brother Thomas Gerald Phillips of Cason, TX ; four grandchildren Eric Holsopple, Kristin Holsopple, Misty Bearden and Harlan Bearden; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Opal Phillips and one sister Bobby Ruth Mullins.
