Services for Bobbie L. Johnson, 87, of Omaha will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 22, 2006 at Omaha First Baptist Church with Rev. C.L. Moore officiating. Burial will be 3:30 p.m., at East Caney Cemetery, Sulphur Springs, Texas under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Johnson died Friday, December 15, 2006 in Denton. Mrs. Bobbie L. Johnson (Sis) was born in East Caney Community, Sulphur Springs, Texas on January 14, 1919 to the late Nugon and Fannie Clayton Lewis who both preceded her in death. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death. She united at East Caney Baptist Church at an early age. In later years she moved to Omaha, Texas and united with the Omaha First Baptist Church. She graduated from Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas and moved to Omaha where she married Loy A. Johnson (Uncle Loy) who preceded her in death. She taught at Carver High School for many years before moving to Kansas City, Mo. After retiring from the Kansas City School District, Aunt Bobbie returned to Sulphur Springs where she continued to teach school until her health began to fail. She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving sister, Jettie Mae Whitley, and brother-in-law Jessie L. Whitley from Kansas City, Missouri, two sister-in-laws, Gloria Lewis of Texarkana and Thressia Lewis of Omaha, Texas. She also raised Lee Oscar who preceded her in death, Sarah Parker of Denton, Texas, Durrie E. Lewis of Kansas City, Missouri and Edward Glenn Lewis of Dallas, Texas. Billy Ray, Charles, Ronnie, Sammie Nancy, Ruthie, Peewee and the Harris sisters were among those that she thought of as her own. She had a host of nieces and nephews who include Bobbie, Faye, Mona, and Brenda, Delbert and Alfie of Dallas, Texas, Gloria Dean and Donnie of Texarkana, Texas, Ronald Lewis of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Esther Hayden of Aubry, Texas, Freddie and Queen Lewis of Denton, Texas, Marquita and Samuel Hawkins of Atlanta, Georgia, Bonnie Marshall of Kowloon, China, and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews and friends.
