Tidy Brannon

Tidy Mary Tyler Brannon was born March 23, 1920 to the late Bob and Addie Amos Tyler in Grenada, Mississippi. Her soul departed her earthly body to ascend into heaven on May 28, 2006 at 11:00 p.m. at her home. Preceding her in death were her husband, George Brannon, Sr., her daughter, Elizabeth Kay Watkins, step daughters, Ruth Wilkes and Erma J. Cooley; her parents, Bob and Addie Amos Tyler, brother, Hampton Jones, and sisters, Bessie Lee Tidwell and Annie Ruth Seeden. She was united in marriage to Rev. George Brannon, Sr.. Mrs. Brannon was active in the church for years until her health began to fail her. She was the mother of three sons and three daughters and step mother to three step daughters. Mrs. Brannon had a high school education. She worked as a cook for the Hughes Springs I.S.D. Mrs. Brannon worked for J.C. Penney and Montgomery Ward while living in Beaumont. She is survived by five of her children, George Brannon, Jr. of Hughes Springs, Charles Brannon of Mesquite, and Ronnie Brannon of Fair Oaks, California; Mary Brannon of Hughes Springs and Delores Brannon of Hughes Springs; step daughter, Essie Neeley of Lumberton, Mississippi; 17 grandchildren; 21 step grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; numerous step great grandchildren, her brother, Odell Tyler of Boston, Massachusetts, and a host of very special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
